Our Condolences

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of two of our past founding members of the Food Bank,

Bud Little and Leo Dorey.

Bud Little

Over the years Bud served as Chairman of the Food Bank, as Vice Chairman and as Operations Manager. He was instrumental in getting our present food bank building up and running in 2011. When the pandemic hit Bud resigned but we were able to entice him back as a Grocery Clerk where he could interact with the clients. He enjoyed speaking with the clients and entertaining everyone with his jokes and puns. Bud was a great mentor to many with his guidance, knowledge and wisdom.

Leo Dorey

Leo started his volunteer career with the Food Bank in 1998. He served as Chairman of the Food Bank, as Past Chairman and as a Board Member. He volunteered 22 years with the Food Bank starting in the big white house in New Minas and finished serving in the present Food Bank building in Kentville. Leo resigned in 2020 due to health issues. Leo’s dedication to our commitment to provide food relief to clients was very important to the success of our Food Bank.
