Our Food Bank

Open Thursdays from 10:00 - 2:00 pm

The Fundy Interchurch Food Bank, a member of the Kentville, New Minas and Area Council of Churches is a volunteer organization that is committed to providing emergency food relief to individuals and families in an area generally comprising part of Greenwich, Port Williams, New Minas, Kentville, Coldbrook and surrounding areas.

We continue to see significant increases each year in the amount of clients served. In 2018 we served 6652 clients of whom 2139 were children. This is over 127 clients a week! We gave out a total of 86,393 kg of food.

As a Christian community we strive live our faith as a supportive church community. Our purpose is to serve those who are in need and our volunteers work to keep our shelves full and our doors open. We are thankful for the community support and donations for without them we could not feed the hungry in our community.

Our leadership is comprised of representatives from most of the local churches in the areas of Alton, Aldershot, Coldbrook, Kentville and New Minas. There are Directors who meet regularly to manage the running of the Food Bank and a contingent of dedicated volunteers who receive food, stock shelves, pack food, complete intake assessments, and manage the office as well as inventory supplies.

Thank you to all of you who help with organizing food drives for us!

our

New Building

We received enough funding to building a stand alone facility that provides much needed food storage and helps our volunteers to work and serve in a healthy and up to date environment. Thank You to all the many volunteers and community partners who have contributed to make this a reality.
